Bar Smith has been in the Downtown Phoenix area for years. In recent years promoters Pete Salaz, Senbad, and Edson Madrigal took over the club as owners and made a lot of changes to the look and feel of the club. One of the first things they did was use local artists to decorate the walls of the club with original paintings. Changes were made to the staircase and lighting fixtures and it really improved the ambiance. Every night at Bar Smith is a little different. Check the Event Calendar for changes in event nights. Some of the longest and most famous nights on the schedule are Sticky Fingers on Friday nights where the music ranges fromĀ  garage punk to EDM and Solstice on Saturdays where Hip-Hop is played downstairs and some of the best House music AZ has to offer is played upstairs. Overall the music is never an issue at Bar Smith and the drinks are usually pretty stiff and well priced. The only issue can be if it gets packed due to the size of the dance floor on the bottom level and the popularity of the upstairs. It does usually start to thin out and the club stays open as late as 4a on some nights. There is a second room on the 2nd floor that opens up to take some of the overflow which is perfect if you want to get away from the dance crowd and relax.
